Family PicnicInterested in researching local history, performing genealogical research or charting the development of a family business? Not sure where to start? The Network of Kawartha Lakes Historians is an informal group of amateur and professional historians who are working to make their research and knowledge of historical sources available to the public. We specialize in records predating 1950, particularly those from the nineteenth century. Much of our available material relates to Fenelon Falls and Bobcaygeon, as well as Fenelon and Verulam Townships, but we are happy to help with enquiries throughout the Kawartha Lakes.

Our researchers have years of experience using the variety of historical sources available, including newspapers, censuses, assessments, directories, land registry, land granting, archival, business, birth, death, cemetery, federal, provincial and municipal records. We gladly share material we have researched and are interested to see what you have produced. The Museums of the Kawartha Lakes also have extensive collections of valuable material for researchers.

Whatever interest you take in your community’s past, our researchers will help with your project. For more information send a detailed inquiry to The Network of Kawartha Lakes Historians, or if you prefer, drop by the Fenelon Museum or call us at 887-1044.
