A Pint of Blarney
August 1st
A Pint of Blarney is a six piece band that re-tells the ancient stories found in traditional Celtic folk music. Their music originates from many regions of Ireland, Scotland and Canada’s east coast and is interspersed with some classic Irish wit and humor. They bring the kitchen party sessions to the stage with an assortment of traditional Irish instruments and a sound that will have you tapping your toes. Whether it’s a Jig, Reel, Hornpipe, Polka, Slide, even a Ballad or an Aire, their music is presented in true traditional fashion.
The band members hail from various different backgrounds and are drawn together by a common love for Celtic folk music.
The band is composed of Bob Jones (button accordion and vocals), Edith Hawkins (Irish whistle, mandolin, bodhran, fiddle and vocals), Tom Lucas (fiddle, mandolin, whistle and vocals), Les Agnew (Irish bouzouki, mandolin, bodhran, guitar and vocals), Chris Herlihey (guitar, mandolin, bass and vocals) and Pat Temple (stand up bass, 4 string banjo, guitar and vocals).
A little taste of Ireland in your own back yard. Slainte’
